Vans x Patta – Sk8-Hi (12.2.17)

10

Following up on the previous collaborations, Patta and Vans are proud to present the Patta x Vans Sk8 Hi Collection. While the previous collaborations were mainly focused on the Vans Old Skool silhouette, we now have opted to rework another Vans classic: the Sk8 Hi. The Patta x Vans Sk8 Hi edition will be available in two versions: Langoustine/Black and Hydro/Black. Both colours combine premium ripstop materials on the shoe uppers, a suede toebox, flap and back heel, leather signature “jazz” striping and lining, and feature the Patta Script Logo on the midsole. Every pair is finished off with Team Patta laces, paired with matching “P” lace locks. Every pair also comes with an additional set of thick premium cotton ‘Team Patta’ laces.

The Patta x Vans Sk8 Hi collection is set to release at the Patta Amsterdam and London stores on Saturday, December 2, and will also be offered online from Monday December 4 onwards.

Vault by Vans x END. – “Nordic Wool” OG Old Skool LX (11.24.17) #ENDClothing

VN000VOJRYX_launches_hero_landscape_2

Here’s something entirely fresh and new.  END. Clothing has teamed up with Vault by Vans, to bring this cozy Winter-themed OG Old Skool LX to us.  Available in a Black or Marshmallow knit pattern, sitting on top of a turtledove mid-sole, and featuring premium leather panels throughout the shoe.  To get a better idea of the thought and inspiration behind this release, here’s a little excerpt from END.:

“As winter draws closer and we look to rejuvenate, it’s time to master the art of home hibernation. Now the slate-grey skies and notoriously bleak weather has arrived, overindulge in comfort and hunker down using the art of Hygge; a calm togetherness and celebration of life’s simple pleasures. This END. x Vault by Vans OG Old Skool ‘Nordic Wool’ merges sustainability, fashion and the Danish way of living into a shoe that works well on the sidewalk and skateboard.

Evolving the classic with turtle dove woollen uppers and a natural leather sidestripe, marshmallow hues and a gum rubber outsole round off the hyggelig atmosphere, like mallows roasting over a crackling log fire.

Taking Hygge into the great outdoors, embark on long walks with cosy serenity at your feet.”

END. is holding an online raffle system for a chance to purchase either colorway, that runs until 11.24.17 1:00 BST.  All winners are chosen randomly, and will be notified within 3 hrs. of the draw finishing.

Vans ArcAd x Powell Peralta x Taka Hayashi – Caballero TH Pro, Style 138 TH Pro, & TH Jacket (11.11.17 via @silostore) #silo #silostore

TAKA-OVER

All pics and info via Silo:

“Crafted in collaboration with Japanese artist and Vault by Vans designer Taka Hayashi, the Vans Pro Skate ArcAd Powell Peralta x TH collection commemorates a decades-long legacy of innovation in skateboarding, showcasing unforgettable imagery from Powell Peralta’s signature skate deck graphics archive. The capsule breathes life back into memorable illustrations such as the 1985 Future Primitive logo, Bones fonts, and the principal skull and sword graphics for which Powell Peralta is known.

Featuring elevated renditions of the Caballero Pro ArcAd and the Style 138 Pro ArcAd and limited to only 600 pairs worldwide, the capsule pays apropos tribute to the team that forever changed the face of competitive skateboarding in the 80s, the Bones Brigade, celebrating members such as Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Lance Mountain, Rodney Mullen, Tommy Guerrero and Jesse Martinez.

Known for his sharp attention to detail and premium material executions, Taka Hayashi reimagines his favorite Powell Peralta motifs on the Caballero Pro ArcAd and Style 138 Pro ArcAd. The Style 138 Pro includes a Powell Peralta Experimental tonal screen print on quarter panel, the Future Primitive logo embroidery on heel, and a woven Experimental crest & TH tongue label.

As one his favorite brands since childhood, Hayashi reminisces, “One of the first Powell Peralta boards I purchased was a Skull & Sword Ray “Bones” Rodriguez, created by Vernon Courtlandt Johnson, an artist I looked up to. I must have been ten years old at the time. I went in to Rip City Skate shop and was amazed with all the colors, graphics, and the unique shape of the boards, but that skull & sword really stood out to me.” This collection marks Taka Hayashi’s second Vans Pro Skate project, following the release of his 18th season of Vault by Vans designs this past September.”

Vault x Bodega – “Sub Rosa” Old Skool LX & Mid Skool LX (11.4.17) @bdgastore

Words via Bodega:

“There’s a Vans for every occasion, and every customer, so why should that exclude the expression of desire? We get it though; having a bunch of uptight types bring the hammer of “public decency” down on you can really kill the mood. That’s where the Sub Rosa pack comes in.

Latin for “under the rose”, sub rosa is an age-old phrase denoting discretion and secrecy, the Sub Rosa pack is all about erotic entertainment amongst enthusiastically consenting adults in a high class, safe and comfortable atmosphere.

Featuring a romantic rose motif, incorporated into the classic skate designs of the Old Skool and Mid Skool , the Sub Rosa design is a discreet, tasteful way to let your partner know that you are adventurous and up for anything, while also being sensitive and aware of their needs.

Now that you’ve got the right footwear, take those first steps into the garden of desire. There’s no need to be shy about it. We won’t tell anyone. Everything stays right here underneath the roses.

The Bodega x Vans Vault ‘Sub Rosa’ pack releases Saturday, November 4th at Bodega, bdgastore.com, and ComplexCON. Each pair comes packaged in a custom branded box, with a complimentary calendar and rose – retail is set at $90 for the Old Skool and $100 for the Mid Skool.”

Conclusively, graphic motifs of coffee beans and cigarette butts are aptly embellished on the insoles of each shoe.

Civilist has this to say about their recent collab:

“Our daily routine when opening up store consists of the usual…clean up mess the kids left the day before, put money in the draw, switch the lights on, and then head over to our coffee spot to grab a freshly brewed COFFEE accompanied by a CIGARETTE.”

Note:  The Style 47 DX was an exclusive release only for Civilist, but the rest of the pack will be available at a few other Vans stockists.

Vans x Peanuts – Collection Two (10.6.17)

HO17_Classics_Peanuts_ElevatedAuthentic_Comics

Words via Vans:

“Vans, the original action sports footwear and apparel brand, continues its long-standing relationship with Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang in its latest collection of footwear, apparel and accessories this October. Using original illustrations by Charles M. Schulz, the collection pays homage to the iconic characters and artwork from the original Peanuts holiday television specials.

Charles M. Schulz illustrations take new shape across the Sk8-Hi Reissue and Old Skool styles using the entire silhouette as a canvas. Original designs of Charlie Brown and Snoopy take over the monochromatic silhouettes and are outfitted with leather Sidestripes. Kicking it back to the comic strip days is an Authentic that has been decorated with holiday themed comic strip scenes. Peanuts fans can get their dancing shoes on in an Authentic or Old Skool model that depicts the whole Peanuts Gang during the memorable dance party scene from the animated television special, ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’.

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the Half Cab, Vans designers have included Snoopy and his family members across the canvas panels of the Half Cab. Peek closely and you may see Snoopy’s brother, Spike, on the Half Cab’s tongue label with a Checkerboard printed hat and Schulz signature embossed into the suede toe box. Vans’ very own Checkerboard Slip-On has been reimagined this season to include the many playful expressions of Snoopy that can be found within print. The Sk8-Hi Reissue gets a premium upgrade with leather materialization and has been embossed on the quarter-panels to include the subtle presence of Snoopy and a hidden Woodstock can be seen on the tongue label. A very special Classic Slip-On was created to celebrate the everlasting friendship between Charlie Brown, Snoopy and Woodstock and features plush patches on the vamp of each Slip-On and is finished with ‘Best Friends’ embossed into the front toe bumper of each shoe.

Signature Vans x Peanuts apparel and accessories will be available in a range of prints that match the footwear assortment, including the monochromatic Charlie Brown and Snoopy illustrations and Snoopy’s family for men. Women will have a playfully pink collection of the Peanuts dance party apparel and a tonal collection dedicated to Snoopy. Even the littlest Vans and Peanuts fans will receive their very own assortment of footwear that will be available in kids and toddler sizing including the comic strip and dance party Authentic. Just in time for Halloween, the Sk8-Hi Zip includes glow-in-the-dark Snoopy and Woodstock dressed up as mummies while the Old Skool V features easy hook-and-loop straps and uses the Snoopy Checkerboard print. Tiny tykes get their very own Classic Slip-On that features Snoopy with a plush tail detail at the heel.”

The latest Vans x Peanuts collection of footwear, apparel and accessories will be available to shop in Vans retail stores and vans.com/Peanuts on October 6th!
