Vans x Futuremade Studio – Sk8-Low & Half Cab (Asia Exclusive) (8.17.23)

FuturemadeStudio1

info via Hypebeast:

“Partnering up for the first time, Vans and Malaysian streetwear label Futuremade Studio (FTMD.) are gearing up to launch their first footwear collaboration.

The collaboration sees two classic Vans silhouettes, notably the Sk8-Low and the Half Cab reimagined in a suede build and a retro-inspired color palette. Uniting both brands’ shared penchant for crafting wearable and versatile footwear, both models are designed to be worn every day, whether it’s at the skate park, on the dance floor, to the local cafe or for running errands.

The Sk8-love features a brown main body and an orange vinyl collar, along with shoelaces in an off-white or a matching brown color. Its off-white bumper and friction are accentuated with a bright blue foxing stripe, while the outsoles are emblazoned with FTMD. lettering against a red base.

Elsewhere, the Half Cab arrives in a sandy beige colorway made up of two different types of suede, offering a layering effect. The beige body is highlighted with hues of orange, spotted on the vinyl collars, foxing stripes, and heel counter stitching. The waffle translucent outsoles on this pair are outfitted with a complementing orange base, which is paired with white FTMD. logos for a bold and contrasting finish.

On August 10, the collection will be released in advance at FTMD. with every pair coming in a limited-edition shoebox. Starting August 17, the collaborative shoes will also be available in a normal edition shoebox, via regional Vans’ websites.

Vans Vault x NOAH – Patchwork Sk8-Hi LX (7.27.23)

NOAHPatchworkSk8-Hi1

Vans Vault and NOAH are back with a new set of Vans Vaults for us.  This time, choosing a Sk8-Hi, and constructing it in suede and 100% cotton corduroy, in a patchwork sort of fashion.  Available in two colorways, Brown or Blue.  These are Vaults, but the heel plate is throwing us off, because at first glance you think it’s just a GR silo, but then you see that it’s actually an embossed version, but not the one we currently see on all VLT Vaults.  Just another reason to cop these limited Sk8-Hi’s that are just way too clean to pass up.

Available exclusively on the NOAH site for $128 each.

Vans Surf x Mikey February – Collection (Available Now!)

FA23_Surf_MichaelFebruary_LineUp

Vans Surf team rider Mikey February leads a life of purpose and intention, both on and off his board. The intention and determination that February displays riding a wave is the same intention and determination he applies to life off the board, a mindset that’s helped him to become one of the world’s most accomplished surfers — all while remaining the same affable, accessible individual he’s always been, a hometown hero who founded his non-profit organization with his wife and was the first Black African surfer to qualify for the WSL Championship Tour. Now, February’s unique cocktail of intention, determination, openness, and love of community has been put on display across his new collection of apparel and footwear with Vans Surf.

There’s an air of romance to the solitary surfer conquering an intimidating wave. Still, the community and culture of surfing are a large part of what makes surfing so memorable. The Vans Surf x Mikey February collection explores both pillars of the sport in true “Off the Wall” style with pieces designed for feats of bravery, skill, and athleticism, as well as items intended for the “before” and “after” moments like the Ultrarange Neo VR3, a brand-new, sustainability-focused model with striking design lines and bold paneling.

Besides the Ultrarange Neo VR3, the collection also consists of the Surf Boot 2 Hi V, Style 36 Decon VR3 SF in rich brown and glossy black, and an Authentic VR3 with a kick-down heel (for ease of entry and egress) in “Shadow.” Each VR3 sneaker features materials like regenerative leather and bio-based foam. This is a step towards Vans’ goal of sourcing 100% of its top 4 CO2 impact materials (cotton, leather, rubber, and polyester) from regenerative, responsibly sourced, renewable, and/or recycled sources by 2030. Besides footwear, the Vans Surf x Mikey February collection also offers the Ever-Ride Boardshort, SS Woven Shirt, Chore Jacket, SS Tee, Authentic Pant, and Tote Bag.

The Vans Surf and Mikey February collection is available now at Vans.com/surf and select Vans Surf retailers. Prices range from $50 to $130.

Vans Skate x Beatrice Domond – Zahba Mid (7.13.23)

FA23_Skate_BeatriceDomand_LineUp

On her board, Vans Skateboarding team rider Beatrice Domond pushes street skating in a fresh, exhilarating direction that blends style and finesse. Off her board, she does the same: her incomparable personal style has made her a favorite of the fashion cognoscenti. This versatility makes Domond a perfect choice to introduce the Zahba Mid, the newest member of the Zahba family and a silhouette that, much like Domond, can do just about anything.

Based in New York City, Domond has skated through the Big Apple’s streets in all four seasons but is particularly fond of fall — when the leaves on the city’s trees turn from a vibrant green to a rich gold. That shift in seasons is the inspiration for her take on the Zahba Mid, which boasts a rich green suede upper trimmed with custom gold graphics on the heel and tongue badge as well as contrasting black hits on the Jazz Stripe, tongue, and laces.

The Vans Zahba Mid by Beatrice Domond is also loaded with Vans Skateboarding’s latest and greatest tech. IMPACTWAFFLE™ provides next-level impact protection without sacrificing board feel, while above it, VR3CUSH™ supplies dual-density foam made with at least 50% bio-based EVA foam. Below this two-tech sandwich sits SICKSTICK™ rubber, with zonal tread for enhanced grip, durability, and life. DURACAP™ toecaps supply top-tier durability for even the most shoe-shredding tricks, and the sockliner is made from 98% recycled foam.

Priced at $120, the Vans Zahba Mid by Beatrice Domond will be available globally on July 13, 2023, at select Vans Skateboarding stockists and Vans.com. A Skate Style 53 created in collaboration with Beatrice Domond is set to land at the same time. To celebrate the Vans Zahba Mid by Beatrice Domond, Vans will host a Launch Party at Skate Space 198 on July 13. Vans Skate x Palace – Vans Low (6.23.23)

Vans has teamed up with Palace Skateboards once again, this time to bring an entirely new hybrid model, being dubbed the Vans Low.  We typically associate the name “Low” with what non-Vans fanatics would call an Old Skool, Authentic, or Era in most cases, but this one is entirely different.  Palace took two shoes from the early 90’s, the iconic Half Cab, and the lesser known, but highly regarded Mike Carroll signature shoe, aka the MC, and created this dope new model!  It’s got all the fancy new Vans Skate tech, including a sockliner.

Available in a Black or Natural White colorway, both sitting on top of a standard white vulc sole with black foxing stripe.  Natural gum waffle soles offer up the best grip in the industry.  Peep the wacky video that Palace put out.
