Vans x X-Girl x MadeMe – Wally (12.15.17)

Words via Hypebeast:
Vans has come together with womenswear labels MadeMe and X-Girl. Working together on a limited-edition collection of footwear and apparel, the capsule pays homage to Vans’ storied skateboarding heritage and an inspiration that the trio all share. Amongst the selection, which also features a long-sleeve T-shirt with statement dual branding, the notable appearance of the Vans ‘Wally’ silhouette marks the shoe’s first re-issue since its mid-90s release. The collaborative capsule emphasizes the three brands’ female-first ethos, explained succinctly here by MadeMe designer Erin Magee, “I hope to see more women’s ‘street’ brands owned by women be a presence and respected in the scene.”

The exclusive MadeMe x X-Girl x Vans collection drops December 15, available at Opening Ceremony in the U.S., X-Girl and XLARGE stores in Japan, Worksout in Korea, as well as Yoho and in China.

Vans x Dallas Clayton – Inspiration Collection (Available Now!)

Vans, the original action sports footwear and apparel brand, comes together with celebrated artist and author, Dallas Clayton to present a collection of footwear inspired by the vibrant illustrations brought to life in his popular children’s books. Available for adults and children, the Vans x Dallas Clayton collection will inspire people of all ages to never stop dreaming.

Kicking off the collection are three styles for adults of all ages that illuminate Dallas’ imaginative world, combining fantasy and inspiration into three inspirational prints. On the Old Skool silhouette, Dallas chooses his signature all-over doodle print of squiggles, lines and shapes to fill the canvas. Paying homage to a pair of Vans that Dallas customized himself, the artist emphasizes an all-over rainbow design across the Authentic. Exclusive to this collection, Dallas created a custom character motif that honors Vans’ spirit to highlight a skateboarding unicorn with the positive affirmation, “Keep It Movin.”

Kids and Toddlers can dream big in four Vans footwear styles that bring Dallas Clayton’s original artwork to life. The Sk8-Hi Zip is reimagined to include colorful, out of this world unicorns while the Old Skool is transformed with Dallas’ fun-loving doodles. The skating unicorn makes his way onto the Authentic, which is upgraded to include a pull-tab and elastic laces on the toddler style. Rounding out the kids and toddlers selection is an exclusive style that blends a group of imaginative characters across the Classic Slip-On.

The Vans x Dallas Clayton footwear collection is dedicated to the dreamers of the world and each pair comes with a sticker with Dallas’ positively thought provoking saying “Stand Here and Think About Someone You Love”. The collection comes to life this March and ranges from $37 – $70 and will be available to shop in Vans retail stores and online at

Vans x Natalie Westling – Sk8-Hi Reissue DX (Opening Ceremony Exclusive)

Vans partners with Sk8-Hi brand ambassador and American model, Natalie Westling to design a custom Sk8-Hi Reissue DX that draws inspiration from her own personal approach to style with references from the ‘90s skate scene. Natalie, an Arizona native, picked up a skateboard at the age of three and has since found the striking similarities of riding atop her board and walking the runway.

“I was so honored to be a part of the Sk8-Hi campaign recently that it only felt right to choose the Sk8-Hi. All in all, I wanted to create a shoe that I could skate in but was also different from all of my other Vans.” – Natalie Westling

Taking cues from her own personal tomboy aesthetic, Natalie chose tan nubuck uppers and off-set it with a blue leather Sidestripe and hang flag. Keeping with the skate aesthetic, the Sk8-Hi Reissue DX uses a micro-mesh mini checkerboard lining that was once used in Vans’ most iconic skate silhouettes throughout the ‘90s, along with a dark gum sole. The Vans x Natalie Westling Sk8-Hi DX is finished with a custom blue footbed that is personalized with a ‘Natalie Skate’ emblem to match back to her own tattoos.

The Vans x Natalie Westling lookbook was shot by Los Angeles based photographer, Christin Rose, founder of the ‘She Plays We Win’ project geared toward celebrating the confidence that sports provides for young girls and used a group of local New York based skaters alongside Natalie. Earlier this year, Vans and Opening Ceremony partnered to launch Club USA, a dedicated shop-in-shop experience and continue their long-standing partnership with this exclusive collaboration. The Vans x Natalie Westling Sk8-Hi Reissue DX is available for $100 USD and is sold exclusively online and at all Opening Ceremony locations beginning November 1st.

It looks like Hello Kitty’s back for the 2012 season!  I came across these samples while on eBay, and thought some of you’d like to see them.  These are all in a kids sz13, so I don’t know if any of these will be available in women sizes as well, but if any new info comes along, I’ll be sure to pass it along, because who doesn’t love Hello Kitty?!  If you want to purchase these, then dingosk8store on eBay is selling them.

Vans x Hello Kitty – Apparel Teaser (Fall/Winter 2012)

I admit, we don’t post up that much information about Vans Girls product, but I do when I feel that it’s something worth sharing.  No doubt, the Hello Kitty collaboration was the best girls release of the past year.  HK fans are just as much of a hype beast as us sneakerheads, and when these two worlds collided, well, it was history in the making.  Well, we are glad to share that the Hello Kitty x Vans collection will be back this year, and this time, they are focusing on apparel.  We have a few teaser shots of a few new items, recently previewed at the Agenda trade show in the LBC, thanks to Highsnobiety.  Seen here is a backpack with Hello Kitty’s face and a “3D” bow, and a few teasers of a few tees.  Stay tuned for more info!

It’s been awhile since we’ve had any Disney news on here.  It’s also been awhile since we’ve had any womens news as well, so when I saw on Modern Notoriety this morning, that there was an upcoming collaboration with Vans and Disney called the “Minnie Couture” collection, I was delighted to be able to share this with you all!  This pack consists of a Sk8-Hi, and a Slip-On, adorned with brown fleece all over the outside, and cream colored fleece on the inner lining.  Both sit on top of off-white soles, with pink foxing stripes, and the Sk8-Hi has pink polka-dot laces.  Available on 10/7/11.  Oh, and did I mention this was a Japan only release?  I guess I haven’t had any news on that for awhile, either!

Erwin’s Mickey Authentics circa 1991 (new pickups!)

OTWS member Erwin posted up a pic of his vintage circa 1991 Vans x Disney “Mickey Mouse” Authentics.  These are the cleanest ones I’ve seen, as most on eBay are worn to sh*t!  Nice come up Erwin!  Word is, one may be fore sale, BUT, they are for kids or ladies with small feet.
