It’s been a minute since we’ve had any custom sneakers up here on our site, but recon artist Desp1 of Fresh&Fly Customs has just dropped this new release on us. Using the popular Sk8-hi model, he deconstructed the shoe, and wrapped the existing material with raw Japanese selvedge navy colored denim. Faux snakeskin was also utilized on the jazz stripe. These came out exceptionally clean, and are going to be up for sale soon, on his webshop. Another notable thing to mention, is that he posted up the “how-to” process here, on how he created these beauties, in an attempt at driving the customization movement for newcomers looking to try it out, in a time when most sneaker customizers have been slowly starting to move on to other things. If you follow the customizing community, there’s a lot of heads who are getting worn out, due to the length of time it takes to construct a pair of these shoes, and their product not moving due to the higher prices that a one-off design is rightfully priced at. The average reconstructed pair of Vans, runs in the neighborhood of $300, which is a steal, for a quality, hand-crafted piece of art, that only a handful of people will have.
