I always like when insoles have a design, simply because it shows they took that much extra effort into the shoe. It's often related to the level of quality of the shoe, too. Much like a jacket with a nice lining. Nobody sees it, but you know it's there and it just adds that much level of attention to the item. Plus, if it's doubled with nice materials, that speaks even more to the level of quality.

Plus, I love checkered things, so I even get excited about a checkered insole... haha

Hmm...my pairs had a slightly higher roof on them, meaning they fit just slightly loose. Perf Chukkas seemed to fit tight, height wise, on me.
