Well, I take out the insoles and replace with Nike AM90 Current insoles for a better fit, so they both fit the same, and better than the Vans insole imo.

Jesse i'd suggest half size up, i wear 9.5 in all syndicates... but the Makai Era's are tight and narrow up front.
Went with a sz10 and there perfect, hope this helps.

I wear 9 in all Syndicate Chukka's, Sk8 Hi's, Sk8 Mids, etc. I probably ft 9.5 by traditional standards but I like my toes right at the end of my shoes. 9.5's stretch out too much, but in most Era's that look like these and the 005 stuff, I wear 9.5 because my feet are too wide. I can fit 9 in the burgundy Era's, so I think it's safe that I go with a 9.5 in these. 10's are always too big for me.

these are similar yes but still a lil tighter.

I'm tellin ya'll, swap out insoles, play with different ones you have from previous shoes....

With my Vans, if they fit snug, I use either Nike AM, GR Dunk, and/or Vans insoles that are the flat-type leather insoles (Huf Snake Chukkas).

Try it out.
