Has anyone else noticed that there are fake Vans shoes starting to show up on eBay? I mean, the authentic and era style has been shared by many shoe companies, but these ones are blatantly trying to rip off Vans? Check this crap out:

Hehe, Chukka Low shape is so funny looking, not to mention the branding on the insole. Also check out the midsole.

I'm not so sure. The pics aren't detailed enough, but they look like Ray Barbee oldskools. The toe bumper looks sharply chopped, instead of being rounded out on the top corner, so it looks to be a fake.

I have Barbee's and mine look nothing like the ones posted. Main difference is the wave - RB's have slimmer wave, while wave on these fakes is fat as fuck. It's even fatter than the one on GR Old Skools. Another thing is the crooked cut of the toe bumper. Toebox is too short. There are 7 lace holes, while modern OS' have 8. And the heel counter is off.

Oh, and I don't know if you guys noticed it, but recently Old Skools were changed a bit. Slimmer wave, flat toebox, straight stitches on the side. And I think that there is more padding in the collar.

I don't have a pair of the Barbee's, but every picture I've seen has the rounded toe bumper. These are sharply chopped at an angle, so even syndicates, vaults, etc aren't like that... Also, the Barbee's have a white collar lining.

Edit: Crimson beat me to an even more detailed analysis while I was posting this. haha Dude has even greater attention to detail than I do! I didn't notice the lace holes like that.

Hehe, I also did notice the fat wave, or "jazz stripe" as Vans calls it, but I never figured Vans to pay THAT much attention to details in manufacturing, but you guys are good! Oh, and just an FYI, not all Vans toe bumpers are rounded out on the top. See pics below from Bows and Arrows:

Should have a guide.

Well, those are vaults so they wouldn't have the rounded toe bumper. I think what we were saying was that all vans have either the rounded toe bumper (for gr's and such) or the straight cut (for vault, syndicate, etc). The ones in that link were cut at an angle.

Exactly what we meant.

We could do a 'How to spot a fake Vans' guide :D
