First vans sk8-hi that has made me actually want to buy it. Materials look on point. Only thing that is potentially deterring me is the unknown price point.

i believe 80 and 90 guys... will have stock in hand this afternoon so will get back with shots accordingly.... canvas is DWR treated water resistant as well... a lot of bang for the buck.

happy to take care of anyone here and combine shipping w/ ad inexplorata or the civilist pack etc to try to make it less of a hammer on dudes following a budget.

The sk8-hi reminds me of the sk8-hi holden from afar

hoping these do the shoes justice... just a note that production is a noticeable improvement in overall finish from the sample photos they are using as marketing. They are a little less "green" and really a perfect olive drab. beautiful tones. I may have overcompensated in my color correction, but just know they are not as mossy as they are shown on the vans website.

I would not wear the socks at all. If ever I had to sell them years down the road it would be like " socks included " type of thing.

But these shoes are what we expect from syndicate guys. Quality, and design that is under the radar of "today's" Hyped collector

Brant, are the tongues on the Sk8-His gusseted? And how do they hold up water wise? I know they'ressupposed to be water resistant, but the treated canvas kinda has me on the fence.

The upper of the sk8 hi reminds me of the CA Coated Twill Old Schools. Pretty Nice!

Sk8 hi tongue has elastic straps and is completely same coated canvas material --- BUT then stitched in underneath is a layer of padding - so it looks unstructured but should stay put and the padding protects and makes it feel more secure on the foot. Very clever solution.

I haven't poured water on them or anything but it's dwr coated so generally that means it's going to repel very well.
I spoke with Eric about these during the finalization process and he was talking about how popular these materials are in japan right now, and a bunch of guys are using a kind of saddle bag on their bikes using the same fabrics, etc... So that was a major influence for him in design direction.
