Yeah very weak release. Ok maybe if the material was at its best, maybe but still you can tell when shoes do get any " love" in the creation stage .

they haven't put out a pro model in a while. (velvet stars are the last Pro model shoe I remember) this is probably going to be a regular era with a leather lining and a regular sk8 hi reissue.
For the $120 you would pay for these you can get a pro model era (i recommend the Jeff Grosso!) that will skate a lot better and have a lot of money left over to go out to a nice dinner,
Well the Eras were 88 and the His were 98, thats somewhere in the pro territory I guess? Still too much. I say skating because what would these shoes fall under? That use the Vault label for the kicks, but they don't come in Vault boxes. I can't say CA either, or even GR? I do think the soles would at least be decent enough to skate in for a bit, but yea the lack of good insoles almost defeats the purpose of buying a shoe like this. Theres almost no redeeming quality in them. I don't dubt that resellers are gonna try and push these. Even though the last few releases bombed.

I'd say the category they fall under is pretty much just "Supreme". They do sort of have their own signature style, and that's the pigskin black or beige linings, red leather footbeds, custom heeltab, and the signature box. With so many awesome Supreme Vans releases in the past, it seems like their black suede Sk8-Hi format in the traditional color blocking is getting a lil' boring. Same shoe, different canvas pattern. I guess you could say the same for the Era and the "all-over" print. It's like some sort of standard format, and they should put it away for awhile. I'd love to see another awesome leather pack, like the Mtn. Edition / Old Skool one, but perhaps in a Half Cab and Era edition. Hell, even that bomb ass paisley print sample would've been great. Giraffe's...ehh. How about another collab, other than CDG?

Here's all the Supreme models that come to mind, that follow this look:

CDG 1's
Campbell's
PCL's
Bruce Lee's
Playboy's

Yeah, the last two years has been pretty boring. They haven't even played much with materials. Probably the most interesting release were the uptowns, but I don't really have any desire to own them.

If you look through the releases on here, the designs were so much more interesting until about 2 years ago. http://www.supremenewyork.com/random/shoes

Man, the releases between 2009-2012 were so consistently good, too. I tried to pick up most of those. Even the pairs I didn't initially like in that time period, I've grown to appreciate and would pick up if I found for a good deal. In the last 2 years, I think the Bruce Lee's were the closest I've gotten to buying a pair. PCL's have grown on me, but I doubt I'd wear them and don't feel the need to track them down.

Then the playboy and fuck 'em designs… They just scream trash to me. Both of them just make me think of bad tramp stamps, tacky tshirts, and bro tattoos. haha No offense to those that like those designs. Different people find different meaning in things of course. They just seem wholly uncreative and don't really make any good associations for me.

Yeah, I just try to buy at least one model from each release (except for the last CDG pack, lol. So ugly!) purely for collecting purposes. Where else will you find Vans with the word Fuck on them, other than Supreme?! With that being said, I bought the black sz12 Sk8-Hi on yesterday's afternoon restock.

@Guam: I guess Supreme could have its own category? The collabs just seem to be formula now. The designs don't seem very intriguing anymore. I kind of just see them as overpriced GRs now. I agree that the Half Cab needs more love. Especially the Caballero. I'd like to see an all leather build with an undyed leather heel or toe. Well there was that Fucking Awesome collab. Although I wouldn't mind a Huf "Fuck It" collab lol.

As for that list, I like the Campbell's the most. PCL is feeling kind of irrelevant to me now. I would say CDG 1 is koo, but I feel like the constant sequels are making them less special.

@ Rocket: The last collab I thought was koo was the Lampin. In retrospect, that was a must cop. I think the Zeros were nice, the Vans Mtn, MCs, Metallic Old Skool, and Disruption.

Ehh I think they're at the point, where they know people will buy almost anything they make.

Oh yeah, actually I totally would've been down with the Native's when they came out if it wasn't right around the time of my wedding. Still looking for a pair for the right price on those. Resellers still have 'em way too high for me haha

And the surprise seylynn/zero lo drop would've been awesome if I could've gotten my hands on some!

Metallic old skools are one of the most overlooked releases I think. One of my favorite pairs and easily one of the most versatile releases, too.

Well it seems like the Native Americans are going for $150, maybe in a few months they'll be $110? q-_-p Yea idk why they even bought that shoe. It seems like it wouldn't appeal to a wide audience, oh well.

Its funny, becuase I can't find those shoes anywhere now. Usually only the burgundy surfaces. Vans is supposed to release a Old Skool 92 pro model this fall, so I guess I'll be copping that for now.

Sit tight on those Natives. I just got the Olive green colorway I've been waiting for, for $100 shipped on eBay last week. sz 11.5, which I guess will have to do. The new age typical Supreme customer is only buying the familiar Sk8-Hi/Era/Authentic models these days, so I think that plays a part in what sells more, and I also think that it's smart to cut off sales on a less popular model, like the Native American. There were plenty of sizes left up until the Thursday morning reset, and they just took them down. That's great for those who bought them, and for the resellers, and well...hopefully the rest make it to a Rack near us! I imagine the same thing happened to the Lampin. We'll never know though.

True, the Sk8 Hi, Era, and Authentic sell the best. I can't remember if the CDG 3 and velvet stars sold out or not though. I assume that since they're collabing with a big-ish company like Vans, they have to make a set number of shoes. Yea I think they will end up on the Supreme sale in December. I think the rest end up in Asian/Eastern European countries. I believe some Supreme kicks ended up at Carnival Company in Thailand.

Ooh, I hope the leftover stock of the natives ends up in the december sale. First time I ever ordered from supreme was a pair of the black/gum old skools in a december sale!
