As part of KITH’s ongoing “Love Thy Community” initiative, they’ve partnered up with Jamaica, Queens, NY’s VP Records, and Vans Vault, to create this OG Authentic LX. Inspired by VP Records’ signature record sleeve designs, these are perfect to add to your collection of band and music related Vans. The shoe features a custom printed canvas, as well as custom embroidery on the rear section of the shoe. More custom prints can be found on the footbed, and the Vans flag has been customized on the back side as well. There’s also a t-shirt available with this collection.

The shoes are now available over on the VP Records webstore for $80.

“We’re thrilled to introduce VP Records as our latest partner in the Love Thy Community program. Since its establishment in 1979 in Jamaica, Queens, VP Records has stood at the forefront of the reggae music industry.

Co-owners Vincent and Patricia Chin, both hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, united through their shared passion for music. Originally launching their venture in Kingston, they opened a store and production facility in the late 1950s and early 1960s. In the midst of the politically turbulent 1970s, Patricia and Vincent relocated to Jamaica, Queens, NY, and embarked on rebuilding their business from the ground up.

Since its inception in 1979, VP Records has garnered remarkable achievements, including being honored as the “Best Independent Record Label,” releasing albums that have garnered awards and nominations, and representing some of the most prominent figures in the reggae music scene.

Introducing the final iteration of our ongoing collaboration with Vans Vault—’Double Down Sinner’s Club.’ Consisting of collaborative Authentic and Old Skool silhouettes, this latest collaboration is inspired by retro Las Vegas. Keep reading to learn more about each silhouette in the FEATURE x Vans Vault ‘Double Down Sinner’s Club’ collection.

To begin, the FEATURE x Vans Vault Old Skool ‘Double Down’ starts with a premium nubuck upper as well as a leather toe box for durability. Each sneaker in the pair features a canvas tongue that is treated with contrasting checkerboard prints, nodding to the skateboard heritage of Vans Vault. Embroidered ‘Double Down’ phrasing can be found at the heels. Shaggy suede is placed at the signature Old Skool side stripe, while the laces’ canvas lining and thin corduroy detailing offer further dimension. Tonal stitching can be placed throughout, while the screen-printed graphic insoles and the debossed vulcanized midsole provide additional references to retro Las Vegas with their casino card-inspired imagery. The shoes come with three pairs of cotton laces. A signature rubber waffle outsole underneath the sneaker offers a durable and tractionable finish to the vintage Las Vegas-inspired design.

The FEATURE x Vans Vault Authentic ‘Double Down’ begins with a premium nubuck upper paired with thick corduroy material at the overlays. A canvas lining adds breathability and durability, while the fuzzy suede material on the heel offers even more dimension. A canvas tongue is also placed, treated with a classic Vans Vault-inspired checkerboard print. A similar print can be found at the graphic insoles. The sneaker spotlights a signature Vans Vault flag label within the tonal stitched seams. Embroidered ‘Double Down’ phrasing can be found within the toe box, while the signature rubber waffle outsole underneath the design offers optimal traction and durability. A debossed vulcanized midsole is placed and treated with casino card-inspired detailing that makes an impressionable finish and further emphasizes the vintage Las Vegas aesthetic.

A great community is made up of people who all have unique gifts and talents to share, and I can’t think of a better one than our Vans family. It’s been over 15 years that we’ve been fostering this culture, and we’ve met some really amazing folks along the way. Folks who’ve found unique ways to show their love and appreciation for Vans, proving that Vans is not just one thing. #31daysofvans was created by one of us. #meetthevansfam was created by one of us. Entire Vans sneaker rooms were created by one of us. A Facebook group of over 30k members were created by one of us. The most dedicated Vans sneaker blog, forum, and pioneering Instagram page in the world were created by one of us.

Our community constantly evolves and grows. The platform changes, and the one sailing the ship switches seats, but we’re all on board for the wild ride, wherever it takes us. From OTWS, to Under The Palms, to SV, to Strictly Waffles, to now Wearing Waffles. I’ve witnessed every single day of it, so recognizing how far we’ve come is hard to put into perspective, but damn. Looking back, we’ve sure done some cool shit.

I sit here trying to form the right words to show my gratitude and appreciation for @stevevandoren and the amazing team at Vans who put together this event of a lifetime for our peoples. You are our hero, and you set the example we all strive to live by. I want to thank our bro @wearingwaffles for charming Steve into creating this opportunity. We’re riding your coattails now brotha’! Vans x Futuremade Studio – Sk8-Low & Half Cab (Asia Exclusive) (8.17.23)

“Partnering up for the first time, Vans and Malaysian streetwear label Futuremade Studio (FTMD.) are gearing up to launch their first footwear collaboration.

The collaboration sees two classic Vans silhouettes, notably the Sk8-Low and the Half Cab reimagined in a suede build and a retro-inspired color palette. Uniting both brands’ shared penchant for crafting wearable and versatile footwear, both models are designed to be worn every day, whether it’s at the skate park, on the dance floor, to the local cafe or for running errands.

The Sk8-love features a brown main body and an orange vinyl collar, along with shoelaces in an off-white or a matching brown color. Its off-white bumper and friction are accentuated with a bright blue foxing stripe, while the outsoles are emblazoned with FTMD. lettering against a red base.

Elsewhere, the Half Cab arrives in a sandy beige colorway made up of two different types of suede, offering a layering effect. The beige body is highlighted with hues of orange, spotted on the vinyl collars, foxing stripes, and heel counter stitching. The waffle translucent outsoles on this pair are outfitted with a complementing orange base, which is paired with white FTMD. logos for a bold and contrasting finish.

On August 10, the collection will be released in advance at FTMD. with every pair coming in a limited-edition shoebox. Starting August 17, the collaborative shoes will also be available in a normal edition shoebox, via regional Vans’ websites.

Vans x Mac Miller – “Swimming 5-year Anniversary” Authentic (Sold Out!)

Vans has teamed up with the Mac Miller estate, to release this highly limited Authentic, in celebration of the 5-year anniversary of his album Swimming. These pretty much sold out right when they hit the website on August 3rd, so you’ll have to find these on the dreaded resell market now. The shoe features custom printed text around the entire vulcanized sidewalls, as well as the Yin Yang album graphic on the toe of the shoe. There’s also a custom box.

Retail was $100. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Mac Miller Fund.

If you haven’t had your fill of the Knu Skool yet, well here’s something for you. Vans has continued the most hyped shoe of the year with a Slip-On variant, available in multiple colorways. Some of the most notable features of the shoe, are the slight upper part of the toe bumper that wraps over the front of the shoe, but the main thing is the thick padded ankle, taken from the Knu Skool. Originally called the Vans #44, the Authentic became a cult classic for skaters in the 1970’s. We re-interpreted this model with a softer material composed of fine organic cotton seen throughout the collection.

JJJJound has reconfigured it to have the same organic cotton while removing the material backing to give it an unstructured silhouette.

JJJJound x Vault By Vans – Sk8-Mid VLT LX ($110)

Debuting in the ‘90s as Vans Style #83, the Sk8-Mid evolved from the beloved Sk8-Hi and eventually became a favorite among skaters. JJJJound reinterpreted the mid-top to incorporate a fine organic cotton and suede upper build.

The minimal branding consists of JJJJound’s signature woven beige label on the right shoe. The silhouette features an white organic cotton and suede upper, full suede Sidestripe, leather lining and an off-tone sole unit matching the other two models.
