“Vans kicks off the upcoming holiday season with a head-to-toe offering that draws inspiration from the souvenir bomber jacket. The eight-piece California Souvenir assortment is dressed in rich materials including satin, decorative lurex piping, and embroidered detailing across a collection of Classics and apparel staples. The capsule will be available worldwide beginning this October.
The hero piece of the capsule comes from Vans’ interpretation of the souvenir jacket, which sets the stage for the entire offering. Vans designers pay homage to the customary elements of a traditional souvenir jacket including two-toned color-blocking, striped rib detailing, quilted lining and embroidered back script and tiger. Those original elements are blended alongside nods to Vans’ home state of California with embroidered palm trees and poppy flowers.
Proving Vans Classics are not just one thing, Vans designers have brought the flight satin and embroidery elements to three of the brand’s most iconic silhouettes. The Classic Slip-On features the all over satin material and embroidery across the vamp of shoe. The tiger in the poppies are mirrored across a rose-pink execution, while the black Classic Slip-On highlights the tiger in the palms and the poppy on each side. The Old Skool and Sk8-Hi Reissue take a subtle approach and use lush satin paneling throughout and feature decorative lurex cording across the heel. Each style is delivered in classic black with a metallic greige available in the Old Skool. Available in Unisex sizing (up to a mens 10).”
