Vans Vault x Bodega “Real Tree” Chukka Review

I’ve finally received my pair of Bodega Real Tree Chukkas, after a week long journey across the entire U.S. to get here, which means I can give you guys a better look at these now!  The only down side is that by the time you guys decide to buy these, the 8, 9.5, 10, and 12’s are all gone.  Sizing up should be fine.  For me, these seem to fit true to size, not loose, like your classic Chukka, even with the thinner insole that these come with.  That’s right, no padded insole, similar to the first 3ft High and Rising Chukka series.  The tongue has some slight padding as well.  As with most Bodega collaborations, the materials are their first priority, and the same runs true for these.  At first glance, these look like a standard olive-colored nubuck, found on your typical Vault or CA release, but these appear to have been constructed with a softer, premium nubuck, like pig suede, once again setting themselves apart from the rest, and making their first Vans collaboration one to add to the books.  Think it’ll be in next year’s All Gone book?  It should be!  Anyways, enough politics.  The inner lining is covered in one of Real Tree’s signature camo patterns, as well as the heel strip, and I hope the consumers don’t think that Bodega copied Nike SB on this collaboration, because this one was in the works for over a year, at the least!  One other unique detail is the smooth toe bumper, which you don’t see every day on a Vans shoe.  The heel tab is also subtly customized, which you can check out in the pics after the jump.  These are finished off with gold colored hexagon nut, work boot styled lace eyelets, with matching work boot brown laces.  One last feature, is the Poron insoles, covered in brown suede, which are breathable, lightweight, flexible, and maintain their cushioning for maximum performance.
