This summer, Vault by Vans collaborates with premium fashion label, ALYX, to create a harmonious blend of high and low style with an 11-piece footwear collection. Designed by ALYX creative director Matthew Williams, the Vault by Vans x ALYX collection features deluxe versions of iconic Vans silhouettes that haven’t been released in over two decades. William’s inspiring California roots connect the ALYX brand with Vans’ skate heritage, taking his youth culture inspired designs and adding elements of luxury for this special collaboration.

“For this Vans release, we really focused on the history of Vans and referenced past silhouettes that have since been retired. It was an incredible experience to go through the past archives and reintroduce these styles with our own ALYX details,” Williams said.

ALYX is Williams’ first solo project after exploring a multitude of creative pursuits, including art direction, clothing design, video direction and photography. Although Williams takes pride in helping craft visual identities within the fashion and entertainment industries, ALYX is a passion project that serves as an extension of his own personal interests and influences. Williams lives in New York City but has deep history in Venice Beach and has since embraced strong ties to skate culture and the Southern California lifestyle.

This July, the Vault by Vans x ALYX collection highlights a distinct color palette that reflects Vans’ design heritage matched to the ALYX palette. The assortment introduces the OG Style 138 LX in black, white and red iterations, the Authentic (Convertible) 43 LX with a unique lacing system and collapsible heel, and the OG Style 29 LX featuring black, white and pink versions, all boasting a luxe metal detailing.

The Vault by Vans x ALYX collection retails from $120 to $195 USD and launches globally on July 29, 2017 at select Vault accounts. Learn more about this special project at Vans.com/vault.
