OK. Yeah, just the process of making the tires would make me want to quit on that 1/3 scale project. He's an engineer / machinist huh? That's how he is able to cast all the pieces for the bike. Oh, and I wasn't sure, but was he using that gel mold, to cast a metal version of the parts, or something? I didn't follow that part quite well.

Not a big fan of bikes, but Im really feelin' this old school GT! I Used to be big on the BMX scene back in the day, always wanted a Powerlite racing bike, along w/ one of these Winged GTs.. never got a chance to pick one up. Anyways, I know this is an old post, just wanted the give props on the bike. BTW the gum walled tires are sick :D

Hey bike heads. My friend who's super into cragislist hunting just found a Nishiki frame for dirt cheap. I'm gonna pick it up from him and build me a bike. Can anyone suggest sites for research and/or buying parts?

Yeah, I don't ride, but all the friends did/do. Citygrounds is 3 doors down from Proper, so that's how I discovered them. They also sell completes for cheap. Like $300-$400 range, for certain models of FUJIs, GTs, and other models.

I use a Fizik Arione on both my fixed gear and road bike.

Depends on the rider tho, definitely go out and try some different ones.

I know it's low-res, and admittedly, I lifted it from the ad (I haven't had a chance to take photos in decent light yet), but I just bought this from a fella in town. Pretty excited. Definitely a step-up from the junk I've ridden over the years.

Just a bit worried the Brooks saddle screams "steal me" a little too loudly.
