Looks like they could've used that ollie pad on there! haha I better start wearing mine to see if they do that...
Also, oddly, I never got that email from UBS, so thanks for posting it! I got a response to my email to them, but they just said to keep an eye out for an email announcing whatever deal they came up with (turned out to be the 20% thing).

I stopped in to the Vans store in the local mall and showed them what happened. They said they hadn't seen it happen yet, but as I was standing there waiting for them to check to see if they had another pair in my size, another dude walked in who had bought them last Friday had the same thing happen, but around the back of the heel. Mine was on the medial (inner) side of the shoe, right above where the toe bumper stops. So, I got another pair, which I'll probably have to wear sparingly, but I would keep an eye out on these if you scooped em up...

Scary. Been wearing them for a week and nothing yet so hopefully its just a bad batch in your local store.

Dang, if I only woulda thought to ask you didnt even think of it to be honest. It was a last minute thing and I just jumped on it. Def next time though. Might wanna pick up a backup pair. I'll let you know.

From a friend man.. but technically they came directly from Vans.
Size 10.5 so not samples. They're production for sures.
Not sure why retailers aren't getting these, and I am bummed because I can't really ask for a second pair ha

^^samples are not always size 9 sometimes they make a full sizerange of samples.I got several samples in a 10.5/11
