Maybe I've used a wrong word, but I meant this slick rubber, the one that's used in most Vans Pro, Vaults and Syndicates. The one that frays when, for example, heel dragged. This one here (in Bash Hosoi) is a cheap rubber used in GR Vans.

Only thing about those is that it gets a nasty shiny look. I like the soles you would usually see on your normal GR Authentics.

Imo, the rubber they used on the 005 and 006 Wtaps is the best. It's smooth, it cleans well, and it ages well. The sole type that appears to have thread running underneath, like you guys keep mentioning is nice, but it cracks with age. Plus there is no way to get dirt out of it's pours once it settles in. And when it frays at the bottom, it's super ugly. :/

Oh, and perhaps the rubber used on the Bash Vulc is the same as the rubber that was used on the first Sierra releases. It's different than the GR rubber, yet it looks the same. Key differences are the durability. Those first Sierra's are tough as fuck. I believe this may be the case, since the Bash was originally a cup sole, and they'd want this new Bash to live up to the original when it comes to durability, but still be a vulc.
Anyone actually pay enough attention to their Vans to know what I'm talking about?
