In my opinion, nothing would ever be made as Syndicate if it was not going to be one in the end. The Syndicate sample says it all..

^ guam --- the pair i have seen in person were a straight up GR w/ syndicate labeling... non removable insole, etc. I asked what production would be and was told, but that was in march / april, and it could have changed.

to get off track entirely on a side note : I know dill and ave prefer a different insole set up for what they wear day to day... the av natives have a non removable ortholite sock liner. seems to be a basic and thinner version of the og syndicate pu.... but ive never torn a shoe apart to look closely.

In my opinion, the ortholite insoles feel a little more like memory foam than any other insert Vans has used. It varies by the pair, though. Sometimes, they're nice and thick, other times, they might as well be a softer version of a GR insole...

But more on that off track note, are you saying that dill and ave are making their shoes with their preferred insert? Hence why ave's have the ortholite? And perhaps why these might have a GR or maybe the ortholite insert?

Yeah, the Ortholite soles look GR, but you immediately notice the difference once you put your foot in. Hmm, we'll just have to wait! Also, the FA website link has been shared on a few large blogs, like FNA, so hopefully some of us luck out on this release. Not even sure when Dill will drop these on his site. Damn!

^ yes have definitely seen ave's shoes skew a little wider with each release... which is also more classic to the native silhouette, but also a personal preference of his due to wide feet. So far everyone has been stoked on the latest build that I have heard / seen.

As far as their insole preferences, I am just regurgitating what i've been told. and poorly at that. I don't think they are getting custom sample / weartest models or anything different than what the consumer is getting ultimately....but that those two do prefer some degree of basic or slim ortholite over some of the other sockliner options... most likely for best board feel. Those guys feet can handle it.... I had a shop rider once similar to build and skate style as AVE, and skated non stop... could have gone barefoot completely and it wouldnt have stopped him a bit.
