LoL, rarity alone can't justify a high price. Who else here has the Mainland Chukka Low? It's an obnoxious shoe, and limited as well, and it's probably not worth much at all!
And yeah, those Solebox's were a grail of mine for a few years, until I met Erwin, and he sold me his NDS ones, to pick up those DS ones you see right above here. That shoe was steadily getting above $250 like 3-4 years ago, and who knows it's actual value these days. My very first eBay saves search was for "Solebox Old Skool" and I still keep it there today, and it only pops up with people using it as keywords.
Maybe the color, pattern, or material keeps certain models at a certain price level, like the Civilist Chukka Low. You never know. That's why I list every single detail of the Blends Sk8-Hi Zip LX. They somehow were able to check off every single thing that most Vans collectors could ever ask for on a special project shoe, and it came out right. Sneaker shop collab (Blends), Material (black premium leather), Shoe model (Sk8-Hi Zip LX), Group (Vault), Design (unique, first of it's kind, bad ass bones jazz stripe). The planets aligned on this one for sure.
