Nah, it's all good! I find it strange also. I wish they hadn't done that. It kind of ruins the box (It's weird, but i care about my boxes and i want them in good condition.) But hey, what's done is done. Not like i could exchange the shoe and hope the next ones aren't covered.

Most of the pairs I've ordered from UO in the last couple years have had that... Super annoying!

I was debating about pulling some padding out. I'll prob do it the tongue just pops out alittle too far for me.

I took some padding out of some Rowley Shambles a few years ago and didn't add anything back in. Works great, especially when you consider lots of Vans tongues have no padding anyway. Of course you can always add however much back that you want, too! Just cut a nice straight line in the lining, then it's easy to stitch back up.
