Shoe Pickup Thread

As far as I know, there are more samples than there are production pairs with boxes, og stuff, etc. They scrapped them from production very early on. No shops received shipments of them, just the sample pairs which of course made it to friends and family. I watch things pretty closely and have personally only known of about 6-7 total pairs from ranges 8-12. My theory is that they stoped making them because A. Vans and Wtaps thought they wouldn't sell as well and B. They maybe wanted to keep them limited yet known about? I don't know. They never changed the release photo of the trio to a shot that showed only the black and white, which of course left room for others to speculate about the 3rd colorway. No other S release has dropped with vanssyndicate.com showing pictures of a sample pair in the line up. It's really hard to say, no one I've ever spoked to about it knew the full story. There are pairs from time to time and that's all that's truly known. If anyone else has any insight I'd love to hear it because I'm curious.

The technical color for these is "Horn" if I'm not mistaken, and they were listed as a Japan Exclusive. Which may explain why they are so seldom seen.

Convinced myself to buy these since my birthday is tomorrow. Being honest, I would have bought them anyways, birthday or not. I guess that's when you know you buy too much stuff, when you have to start trying to justify it.

Haha nope don't want to stretch them. Took them shoe trees out already ,that calfskin leather is to soft for those things.

Try tucking the heel of the shoe tree under the foot plate of it,but do it softly or itll snap lol... Oh thanx for showin me where to gettem by the way! Copped 50 sets last month

Thanks for shedding some light Brant. That explains why US shops got sample pairs. I know you got the buffalo boot which was a Japan exclusive. I still always hear that they were scrapped, though, so do you think that they were set to release in Japan and then got pulled? That's pretty close, but the colorway isn't Horn..

Nice Buffalo come up chukka! I just scored there recently as well. I remember when those rudeez hit the rack. I regret selling the pair I copped. And I slept on all the grey pairs! If only, if only.

Yeah, the gray rudeez are the one pair I didn't get for some reason! I'd definitely grab 'em if I saw 'em in my size again, though. If only they put the gray/black pair in production... Always loved the look of those samples!

I've never seen those! Sounds awesome. Black sold/grey leather or the other way around? That'd be great if you had an image of them.

Back when they first came out, I must've seen an image of these, but then never saw anything of them again. For years I thought it might've just been a color combo I thought of and wished they made until I saw these show up in an image search recently. Definitely a sweet combo!
