This is what I hate About Vans Syndicate today. Remember retail on all the Syndicates from 2005-2010? They had a practical price point of $60-85. Yes the video is sick but tell me, where are the skaters that can afford $150 for a pair of vulcanized skate shoes that last 2-3 weeks tops on the deck?

Total bullshit. I won't support $150 retail prices. Over a bill = over the hill.

there are plenty. the better question is, who would pay $150 for a shoe to skate in? skaters may still buy the shoe, but most won't actually skate in them.

Vans does have a line of shoes outside of Syndicate that skaters but from, even the upcoming Syndicate releases are in the 65-80 range. However, these limited releases are not cheap, why they aren't, beats me.

Yeah man that's what I'm saying. I just have a problem with brands that market to skaters when they make their product unrealistic to be skated in.

I understand that they're showcasing the characteristics of this collab and material choice, don't get me wrong. I just won't be able to justify shredding a pair or two

Union did just post the orange and blue on their Instagram, who knows, maybe those are the only colors they ordered.
I mean the way I see it, Black is too simple & yellow is too wild, therefore Blue & Orange make up the middle ground and are probably the most logical selections if your trying to sell all your stock.

This is definitely plausible. But to me, isn't a black Syndicate always a sure thing? Black can pull sales for other colors as well, many consumers in this hobby suffer from "well, it would be sick to have the whole set.." It seems like a brilliant marketing strategy to have black.

Union typically hand selects specific colors for a lot of their orders.

I went to Union today and was shocked they didn't have black, and I'm not gonna pay $170 on a blue or orange shoe. To be honest the shoe is a is good quality, bbbbuuuttt it doesn't really stick out to me. These easily could have been a California release to me, and $170 is just too much, that's $10 less than the Vault Blends, but the blends were completely worth, especially being a Sk8-Hi zip too.
