Well i had em once already & didnt tear anything away...dont think i got the balls to put a blade to em lol

So do I. Someone's pair just had the top of the toe box cut up, and that looks sick too. I think that the completely houndsooth look actually works really well for the shoe too.

get a sand paper and sand it down. that should get you the skated look.
