Figured I'd start this thread to see if there's anyone else into guns on here. I know Tampawafflehead is, but are there any others?

Just went to the outdoor gun range yesterday for my first time at Burro Canyon up in the mtn's above Azusa, and had a blast. I was never really into guns in the past, but since my first trip to an indoor range back in November, I've kinda had an itching to do it again. My best friend, and my sister's BF both have recently gotten into buying rifles, and handguns out of nowhere, and wanted to set up a firing range day for all of us. I can see how people can get into this hobby/culture, and just turn into a fanatic like some of us with Vans! Being able to bring your own targets, and shit to shoot up at the outdoor range is awesome, and plus, just being around a bunch of other cool guns going off is just an awesome experience in general. There were some Civil War enthusiasts who collect old musket guns, who were shooting those things off a few ranges over, and those things echo throughout the whole canyon. Our range safety officer who was with us, brought out his custom made AKs and older Mauser bolt-action rifles, among other ones as well. My best friend's girl just picked up a Mossberg 12 guage shotgun (no-pump...not sure what they're called), and that thing was bad! My best friend and sis's BF both bought different variants of an M-4 Carbine rifle, and those were also pretty damn dope to shoot! I don't know a lot about guns, but I saw Tampawafflehead's pics of him with his guns, and that inspired me to start this thread. Let's see if it goes anywhere! I just had my first experience this past December when I went back to HI for the holidays. Shot a Glock 17and AR-15. The AR was a little dramatic for me but I LOVED the Glock. Looking into getting a license and picking one up sometime this year.

I will be honest with you i have never shot a gun never have wanted to and hope i never have to . Guns are way to easily accessible and just take way to many lives. Sorry to dampen the parade that's just how i feel . But it's cool if you do enjoy them legally and have knowledge of what your doing .

I totally respect that concept homie. I just want to point out that car crashes usually cause more annual deaths than guns. I dont own a gun, and I always figured I wouldnt need one. But i got a family now, so Im gettin one! TO EACH HIS OWN!

Yeah, there's a certain level of trust that you have to have around people handling guns. Most gun accidents happen by people who dont know how to use them, or who dont treat them like they are always loaded. Once you treat a gun like that, it starts to become 2nd nature in how you handle them. Josh, I used to be totally against handguns because of the destruction I thought they caused, but it's the people who actually cause the destruction. Guns do however leave the unthinkable option out there, of someone wanting to take their lives or another person's life, and that's a scary thought. People should have to pass a psych test as well, to own guns lol, because all these doomsday preppers are pretty wacky, and a tad bit insecure and selfish. Its a mental disorder if you ask me. These are the people that are supposed to carry on in society, when our society is supposedly gonna collapse?! I don't think so! To me, guns are fun, and not a necessity. We have a military to handle disorder. That's my belief at least!

don't even get me started about that new reality show about disaster prepping....people like that will never be able to "normalize" even if they did survive...theyed juss be preppin for the next sh!t storm!!!!

Yeah man...they all follow the same premise of "I'll be fine, while those who didn't prepare will be left out, and then we'll say told you so!" Really? You're gonna run your mouth and say told you so, when your neighbors are coming to you asking for help? These people assume that humans are relatively bad, and some are good. They watch too much tv, and don't get out much, because it's pretty much the opposite in real life. Even gang members, criminals, and what not most of the time have motives for their actions, albeit non-acceptable ones in society, whether it's retaliation, disrespect, overstepping boundaries, correcting a wrong, whatever. People don't just act out in violence most of the time. It's provoked. These preppers seem to be on edge, and are paranoid about everyone around them, haha.
