Okay,
First of all It is clear that everyone here love vans. I have been skating nothing but vans the past few years and it has been great for my feet. I'm creating this thread to discuss anything you dislike about vans or anything that vans did that disappoint you.

So let me start.
recently the new vulc sole on vans has been pretty disappointing. My greg hunt S era weren't comfy at all, the molding was not good, the insole was way too thin.
I recently got a pair of grey era pro with duracap, and that shoe wore off terribly.
The new syndicate box is stupid too.

Vans are the worst shoe to collect...but that doesn't stop me, hehe. They look like they've been worn for about a week straight, just after one wear! The rubber Vans uses seems to attract all forms of dust and dirt. They hurt my feet, even with the thick padded PU insoles. They're friendly to kids who don't weigh upwards of a buck-twenty, but that's it! Hehe, so yeah, Vans are Vans in the end. They look dope as hell, though...and their collabs are always gonna be better than Nike SB!

Megas, I know exactly what you're dealing with. They don't use good rubber now! They went back and improved the waffle soles after th Hunt Release, but the foxing is still too soft. The burgundy Wtaps suck too. Notice how it tears and shreds away instead of wearing down smooth and flush with the upper? Almost like it's crumbling away.. It seems like when I do any flip tricks, the rubber starts to peel off the suede instead of taking a beating. As a result, the soles look all chipped on the toes where the rubber meets the upper.

Also I'm fucking STOKED that we're done with that wretched triangle sole that debuted on the Chukka Low and tainted a few Syndicates (Kesslers, warrior mtn editions). That sole is so shitty

Eventually I will provide pictures with comparisons so I don't sound so crazy about this topic all the time.

What was the deal with the triangles anyways? I wanna see pics if you have them! This is good info to share, and pass along!

Is this the sole you are referring to? This sole was used for the Suicidal Tendencies as well.

Yeah that and the 13 ones on the Eric Dressen's syndicate.

Positive the schaaf syndicates had them as well. Not the 510 release though.

What was the "issue" with the triangles? That's what I meant btw.

Yeah! The sole is so shitty because it has no depth. the OG waffles are WAY deeper and have a ton more tread. By the time these soles round on the edges, for me at least, there's already a pretty bad flat spot which leads to a hole. The shape is different too, compare them to a normal hard Vault sole or older Syndicate sole.

Luis, what's the 510 release? I noticed that I've seen a few pairs with normal OG waffle soles (which I really want) and many with the triangle (which is why I don't own a pair).

Oh! And I remember now, the major issue with the trianle is that everyone I knew who had them and wore them (chukka low's, mainly) got the little sole threads hanging out all around the sole. It always lead to the foxing peeling off and chipping away. I'll take pictures of that and show it.

I hate when they package Size 11 + Old Skools in Lowtop Boxes. I hate pulling out a flattened ass shoe.
