how can i tell the difference between era's and authentics?

how can i tell the difference between era's and authentics? they look exactly the same to me..

Eras have padded collar, Authentics don't.

Authentic - Notice no padding around the collar and no stitching for the collar.

Era - Notice the padding around the collar (ankle/heel area) as well as the extra stitching.

i've been told that i should size up .5 for the era's and true to size for the authentics.. is this true?

with vans, it all depends on the insole. GR you can go 1/2 a size down if you have to, but syndicate and vault releases with thick paddings you might want to try it on first unless you are sure what is your foot size is. plus most vans are vulcanized, so they stretch as you wear them

the best thing to do is go to the mall and try on a pair before ordering online :D

^^^Cosign on that. Did that for a few models Chukkas, Chukka Lows, Sk8 Hi's, and Slip ons.
